2014 Community Development Block Grant Program (CBDG) was awarded and amended to allow for City CDBG Program Income to be utilized for the following services, as it becomes available:

  1. The Purchase of a Type 3 Fire Engine for the Oroville Police Department.
  2. Public Service Program at Oroville YMCA
  3. Public Service Program at Catalyst Domestic Violence
  4. Public Service Program and the Oroville Boys and Girls Club
  5. Public Service through the City of Oroville Residential Code Enforcement
  6. Public Infrastructure to make ADA improvements to Oroville sidewalk
  7. Improvements to Hewitt Park

2014 Housing Related Parks Program grant was award funds to make repairs at the Oroville Municipal Auditorium in the amount of $316,700. The kitchen was upgraded to become commercial grade and compliant with Butte County Health Department, as well as the replacement of six (6) swamp coolers and heating unit, plus various other improvements.

2014 USDA Rural Development Community Facilities grant was awarded to the City to provide 18 new sets of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the City of Oroville Fire Department.

2012 Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) was awarded funds that was utilized for the following services:

  1. Public Service at Catalyst Domestic Violence
  2. Public Service at Oroville YMCA
  3. Public Service through the City of Oroville Residential Code Enforcement
  4. Chinese Temple Improvements

2009 Stewardship Council Infrastructure Grant

  1. Awarded $61,000 to construct several youth basketball courts in various City park locations.

Ten park benches made out of recycled content materials were placed in downtown Oroville. The benches were purchased with $5,000 received from City/County Payment Program through the State of California’s Department of Conservation applied for by the City of Oroville.

2008 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Program Income allows for the purchase of Two (2) brand new fire engines and related equipment for the Oroville Fire Department

A fully equipped 2009 Ford Crown Victoria Police Sedan was purchased with a 30% match of USDA Rural Development Community Facilities grant funds.
