Overview
      The Planning Commission consists of seven members appointed by the City Council in accordance with the provisions of the City's charter. The Commission conducts public hearings regarding planning-related development applications, and approves or denies applications for use permits, variances, parcel maps, and subdivision maps. The Commission reviews and makes recommendations to City Council regarding all proposals to amend zoning codes and the General Plan. The Planning Commission selects three of its members to serve as the Development Review Board for the City of Oroville.

Membership
      Damon Robison is Chair of the Commission, and Thil Wilcox is the Vice Chair. Other members are Ronda Brunson, Rochelle Frazier, Joyce Gaza, Daniel Gordon, and Michael Howard.

Meeting Schedule
      Planning Commission meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 1735 Montgomery Street, Oroville CA.

Public Hearings
      The public is encouraged to participate in the hearing process. An agenda item is first introduced by the Planning Commission Chairperson and then described by a staff member. The Chairperson then opens the public hearing and provides an opportunity for the proponent and other interested persons to speak for or against the action described on the agenda. These presentations will be limited to a maximum of 5 minutes so that all interested parties will have an opportunity to address the Commission. At the conclusion of the testimony, the Commission Chairperson will close the hearing and limit discussion to Commission members.

Agendas
      Agendas are posted on the City Hall bulletin board at least 72 hours in advance of each meeting. The Commission may not take action on any item not appearing on the posted agenda without making special findings.
