Sidewalk Improvements benefit Oroville
OROVILLE CA – JULY 24 2012 – The City of Oroville Public Works Department has recently had a cooperative agreement with three local companies that provided labor services, at no cost, to the City for sidewalk improvements along Table Mountain Blvd, just south of Grand Avenue and at Grant & Lincoln Streets.
The first area, Table Mountain Blvd, lacked a paved sidewalk and has a large number of pedestrians using it. The second project, Grant Avenue at Lincoln Street, completed the paving linking the pavement to the sidewalk.
Work was completed earlier this month with Fairbanks Paving providing paving services, Crosswell Trucking materials delivery, and Custom Sealing and Striping appropriate safety markings. All materials were provided by the City of Oroville for the project which resulted in substantial safety improvements for school children and other pedestrians.
Art da Rosa, Director of Public Works stated, “This was an excellent opportunity for local companies that wanted to give back to the community” going on to say, “The City of Oroville is appreciative of each of the companies that participated in this safety project and is hopeful for additional projects in the future.”
