PRESS RELEASE
FULL SERVICE JET REFUELING NOW AVAILABLE AT OROVILLE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT
OROVILLE, CA – March 13, 2012 – The City now has full service jet refueling available at the Oroville Municipal Airport. The introduction of full service jet refueling at the Airport has been a priority for the City since 2008 when a completed Airport Revitalization Study concluded that the Airport was underutilized. The Study recommended the introduction of jet refueling and refurbishment of the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) building as two of the top short term priorities to revitalize the Airport.
The plan to introduce jet refueling started to formally move forward in 2011 when City staff issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for full time FBO services at the Airport with a requirement that the FBO offer jet refueling. The outcome of the RFP process was that the City selected Table Mountain Aviation (TMA) to continue providing FBO services with an extended 5-year lease, with a condition to introduce jet refueling in early 2012.
TMA will offer full service Jet A refueling with a 3,000 gallon refueling truck and point of sale equipment that will allow corporate pilots the convenience of full service refueling during normal business hours, and after hours by pre-arrangement with TMA. The City is committed to maintaining competitive full service Jet A fuel prices as compared to area Airports. The introduction of full service jet refueling will be an asset to both the Airport and the aviation community.
