The City of Oroville Planning Commission was established to oversee land use changes within the City. To do so, the Commission is conveyed special authority and responsibility by the City Charter. The Commission consists of seven members to be appointed by the council each to serve for a term of four years, without compensation. The city planning commission exercises all the powers and duties of the State of California, and local ordinances that the City Council ordain, which pertain to the regulation and control of land use, general plan changes, and land subdivision.
