TRANSPORTATION HIGHWAYS:

Just 65 miles north of Sacramento, Oroville is located on Highway 70, (Northern California's designated north-south highway). Highway 70 makes transportation to most Northern California cities easily accessible and also provides a direct link to California's major freeways.

• Interstate 5 (California's north - south freeway), stretches the full length of the state and continues through Oregon and Washington.
• Highway 99 is located only five miles west of Oroville and provides transportation throughout Northern California from Sacramento to Red Bluff.

AIR TRANSPORTATION:

• Sacramento International Airport is located 60 miles south of Oroville
• San Francisco International Airport is three hours away in the San Francisco Bay Area.
• Oroville Municipal Airport is adjacent to an 18 hole golf course and club house, accommodates private planes, charter flights and private jets.

PUBLIC TRANSIT:

• Oroville Area Transit System (OATS) serves most residents in the Greater Oroville area, making bus transportation easy and reliable. The system operates from 7 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday (except holidays).
• Greyhound Bus Lines is also available to and from the City of Oroville.

MEDICAL:

• Oroville Hospital, a 153-bed facility, offers state-of-the-art medical services.

HIGHER EDUCATION:

• California State University, Chico (CSUC) is 30 minutes from Oroville.
• Butte Community College is 15 minutes away.

LOCAL PARKS:

• Feather River Parkway: This five mile loop overlooks the Feather River and is popular with walkers, joggers and bicyclists. Feather River Parkway runs along Bedrock Park, complete with a swim area, amphitheater and tennis courts.
• Mitchell Park: This 24 acre area features several youth baseball fields, softball fields, a baseball stadium, and picnic facilities. It is also the home to Play Town USA (a theme playground for children).
• Nelson Park and Swimming Pool: Three lighted fields serve the Feather River Park and Recreation District's softball program, and four lighted youth fields are used by the Thermalito Little League at the park, which is located at Sixth Street and Nelson Avenue. A tot lot, with picnic tables and playground equipment is provided. There is also a swimming pool open during the summer, tennis courts, sandlot volleyball court, and recreation center.
• Other parks include Hammon Park, Hewitt Park, Soroptimist Park, Martin Luther King Jr. Park, Palermo Park and Swimming Pool, and Rotary Park, and Bedrock Park.

GOLF COURSES:

Table Mountain Golf Course: (530) 533-3922. This 18-hole, 6,472 yard long course, with a par 72, is open seven days a week. It offers a driving range, two practice putting greens and a practice sand trap. An airplane tie down area is adjacent to the parking lot for fly-in golfers.

Kelly Ridge Golf Course: (530) 589-0777. A nine-hole, 4,160 yard long course, with a tight par 66, provides challenging golf while offering a park like setting with spectacular views of Lake Oroville and the surrounding valley.

BIKE TRAILS:

Bedrock Park: A 2.5 mile paved bike path is available with a view of the Feather River. Feeling more adventurous? There is a 41 mile off-road trail through the Wildlife Refuge, Feather River Area, and Oroville Dam.

Feather Falls: This trail is for intermediate riders only. The off road ride starts at the Feather Falls parking area and continues for 3.5 miles. Riders will enjoy a terrific view at Look Out Point.

Feather River/Oroville Dam: For experienced riders only. This 15 mile ride takes you just outside Oroville and a ride along the Feather River. Oroville is home of the Lake Oroville Classic Bike Race each May.

Horse Trails:

There are numerous trails located in the Oroville Area. A 15 campsite area is located at Loafer Creek State Park, which includes a handicapped accessible horse washing station. Horse tethering and feeding stations are near each campsite. For additional information call (530) 538-2200.
