Department Parks and Trees
The Department of Parks and Trees Manages a wide range of human services helping to enrich the lives of those who live within our community. The Department, administers, manages and implements programs to maintain and beautify the City’s park lands and recreational facilities. It also offers leisure service programs to accommodate a variety of interests, ages, cultures and abilities. It also coordinates community special events, civic and cultural programs in addition to the planting and maintaining of park trees and street trees and the removal of diseased or dangerous trees.
The Department of Parks & Trees oversees and maintains the five city museums and public facilites, such as the State Theater and Centennial Cultural Center Buiding. The musuem curator is assigned to the Department to ensure that the valuable artifacts are preserved and catalogued.
