NEW KID ON THE BLOCK

5 Acres - Hammon Park is located on Hammon Drive off of 2nd Street in Thermalito.

HISTORY
Hammon Park       In 1977 negotiations started with Oroville Union High School District to purchase four acres of property east of Prospect High School. The four acres were purchased and one additional acre is leased.

Access to the parcel way by a ten foot (10') right-of-way, which was know on paper as Siskiyou Avenue. We obtained additional right-of-way for curb, gutter, sidewalks and utilities, and Hammon Park was developed.

Hammon Park       Development went on as funds became available from California State Parks Bond Acts, Residential Development Fees, and the City's General Fund. City Staff accomplished the majority of the design and development.

Hammon Park was dedicated on Friday, October 7, 1988.
