The facility includes the Administrative Offices, Classroom, Maintenance,
Storage facilities and Emergency Operations Center.
     
Normal business Hours are 0800-1700 hours Monday - Friday
     
The fire department was established in 1856, and today consists
of 21 full time personnel and 12 paid call Fire Fighters. The department
responded in the year 2003, to 3,301 emergencies and public services.
     
OROVILLE CITY FIRE RESCUE provides ALL RISK EMERGENCY SERVICES and Customer
Services for the citizens of Oroville.

Service Area
     
Within the City Jurisdiction are 13 square miles of area, 71 miles of city streets,
5,372 homes, 2,804 detached structures, 213 attached improvements, 766 (2-4)
multi-family housing units, 1,254 (5+)multi-family housing units, 335 mobile homes,
and 1 Airport, 2 Runways and 3 Industrial Parks. Additionally, Oroville is
intersected by State Hwys 70 & 162, and to the west by State Hwy 99.
     
Unofficial City population of 15,000 with a surrounding unincorporated population
of 60,000.
Service Delivery
     
The City Council has adopted the Fire Department Standards of Cover Guidelines
to the safety element of the General Plan to guide future growth issues, and
staff recommends the maintenance of this standard. The goal statements are:
      "Fire Department travel times should place a first-due unit at scene within
five        minutes travel time, for 90% of fire and medical incidents."
      "Fire Department units shall be located and staffed such that an effective
response        force of four units with eight personnel minimum shall be available
to all areas of        the City within a maximum of ten minutes travel time, for
90% of all structure        fires."
