IS IT A CITY TREE?

How to tell if a tree belongs to the City of Oroville, or is privately owned.

Trees       It is a City tree if it is planted in the parkway between the sidewalk and the curb and gutters. If there is no parkway, and the sidewalk abuts up to the curb and gutter, then there is a three to five foot city right-of-way directly behind the sidewalk. If a tree is planted in this right-of-way, it is a city street tree.

If there is no curb, gutter, or sidewalks, call the City of Oroville Parks and Trees Department at (530)538-2415 to verify if the tree in question is a City tree.

The City of Oroville Parks and Trees Department has the authority to work on City trees and no others.
