Responsibilities of the City Council

The Oroville City Council is elected by the citizens of Oroville to
guide the policy affairs of the community. The Council is composed of
five members elected at-large who each serve four year terms.
Municipal elections are held in November
every two years on even-numbered years. The City Council
appoints the City Administrator, City Attorney and City Commission Members.
The Council also serves as the Board of Directors for the Oroville
Redevelopment Agency.

Agendas are available in the City Clerk's office 72 hours prior to
regular council meetings. They are also posted at City Hall and
here on the City of Oroville website. If you would like to address the
Council on a scheduled agenda item, you must complete a Speaker's
Card located on the cabinet just inside the Chamber Room. Please identify
your name and address on the card, and the item you would like to address.
Give the card to the City Clerk. You will be called to speak when
the matter comes up for discussion.
