Chapter 12 LICENSES*
Article III. Ambulances.
12-50 Certificate of public convenience and necessity--Required; application.
(a) No person shall engage in the business of operating any
vehicle defined in section 12-49 in the city without first having obtained a
certificate of public convenience and necessity from the city council and a
license to conduct such business.
(b) All persons applying to the city council for a
certificate of public convenience and necessity to operate an ambulance in the
city shall file with the council a sworn application providing as
follows:
(1) The name and address of the owner or person applying, if
a partnership; if a corporation, the names of directors and principal
officers.
(2) The number of vehicles proposed to be operated.
(3) A description of the vehicle as to color scheme,
insignia, trade style and any other distinguishing characteristics.
(4) Any facts which the applicant believes tend to prove that
public convenience and necessity require the granting of a permit.
(5) Proposed rates to be charged.
(6) Such further information as the city council or the city
administrator shall require. (Ord. No. 1127, § 2.)
