Project Description:
Airport Pavement Project will consist of the following:
- Crack sealing of runways, taxiways, and the south parking apron
- Pavement remarking (repainting) for runways, taxiways, and parking aprons
- Upgrade and renumbering of existing vertical guidance signs
Funding will be provided by a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Grant, No. 3-06-0178-15, which the City expects to receive in early September 2011.
Formal proposal advertisement and submission procedures were utilized with the Request for Bids (RFB) advertised in the Oroville Mercury Register on July 16, 2011. In addition, the plans, specifications and contract documents were submitted to a number of contractor’s exchanges to further advertise the Project. The project was also advertised on the City of Oroville web site. Bids were received and read on August 22, 2011. Five (5) bids were received and opened. The bids were reviewed for completeness with each bids determined to be responsive. The costs were then compared and a selection was made based on the lowest cost.
Funding Sources:
Funding for this project includes both for project construction and inspection, for a total of $538,888. Source and amount of funding is as follows:
- FAA: $511,944
- Caltrans: $13,472
- Airport Fund: $13,472
