The Oroville Arts Commission is now Accepting Nominations for the "Your Voice for the Arts Award"

OROVILLE, CA – January 15, 2020 –The Oroville Arts Commission, in collaboration with the Oroville City Council have developed a Your Voice for the Arts Award recognizing people and organizations that positively impact the Oroville community with their passion, innovation and commitment to the arts.  

Any member or Organization of the Oroville community may be nominated by the public. The Oroville Arts Commission will select a finalist for recommendation to the Oroville City Council based on the breadth and depth of the nominee’s community impact as well as the quality of work being done by the nominee.  An ongoing award will be displayed at City Hall and individual awards will be presented to the recipient(s).

Areas of Artistic involvement include, but are not limited to:

  • Patron of the Arts
  • Community Outreach by an Organization
  • Community Outreach by an Individual
  • Significant Artistic Achievements in their life that inspire others to become involved in or support the arts culture of the Oroville community.

Nomination applications are available and accepted starting Wednesday January 15, 2020 and closing February 6, 2020 at 12pm.  Applications will be reviewed and considered by the OAC on February 11, 2020 and then recommended to the City Council for approval. The award will be handed out at the State of the City on April 2, 2020 at the State Theatre.
