 OROVILLE, CA –August 14, 2019 – The City of Oroville recognizes the hazards of the high temperatures and will be reopening the cooling center at the Oroville Rescue Mission for the next five (5) days.

This cooling center will be located at the Oroville Rescue Mission located at 4250 Lincoln Blvd., in Oroville. The cooling center is open to all and the City encourages the citizens to utilize the center. The cooling center will provide water, respite from the heat, and a place to charge cell phones or other small devices.

The following are rules in place at the Oroville Rescue Mission:

  1. All dogs must be leashed, and owners clean up any messes made by the dog(s).
  2. No smoking (except on Lincoln Blvd).
  3. Lunch is served at noon and dinner at 7pm.
  4. No drug or alcohol or use on the property.
  5. Vehicle parking is in the dirt lot south of the paved lot.
  6. Chapel attendance is not mandatory.

The hours of operation for this cooling center will be August 14-18 from 10:00 a.m. to dusk. The temperatures this weekend are expected to be over 100 degrees please make every attempt at staying hydrated and limiting exposure to the heat if at all possible.
