Supplemental Benefits Fund
Announces 2018 Grant Availability
OROVILLE, CA – September 20, 2018 – The Supplemental Benefits Fund (SBF) Steering Committee approved the release on September 6, 2018 of $2,530,000 in the following categories.
Marketing/Community Benefit Fund $230,000
Project Fund $2,070,000
Revolving Loan Fund $230,000
An informational workshop will be help on Thursday, October 4, 2018, from 1pm-3pm, in the City of Oroville Council Chambers, 1735 Montgomery Street. This will provide an opportunity to receive firsthand information about both SBF and the NOFA. Attendees will receive five vetting points towards the application process. The Supplemental Benefits Fund was established as part of the relicensing of the Oroville Dam Facilities by the California Department of Water Resources (DWR). Once the license is issued by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, up to $1 million a year will go into the fund. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission license has not yet been approved, however, DWR in 2017 released $3,000,000 ahead of license signing to be made available to the SBF for potential projects in the Oroville Region.
